Phone does not recognize PC
Initially, all mechanical connections must be checked and then proceed to the software component.
- Check the USB cable for possible physical damage. The defect is not always visible from the outside and the problem may lie inside.
- Be sure to check the gadget settings. The computer sometimes does not see the Meizu M5s phone via USB, but the smartphone is charging successfully. This means that the charging mode is selected. You need to change the mode to “Transfer files or multimedia”, and folders with files from the device will appear.
- If the smartphone settings are correct, then it is worth trying to change the USB cable itself, even when it successfully charges the device. It happens that the cord is simply not suitable for transferring files. Despite the fact that the type of smartphone cables, whether Meizu M2, M3, M5, M6, MX5 or even the Mini (Mini), Pro (Pro) and Note (Note) series is the same, their specifications may differ.
If none of these points help, it’s time to move on to the next section.
When there is a problem with connecting the Meizu U10 device to a personal computer, not only the smartphone, but also the PC itself can be the culprit.
- First of all, you need to check the USB connector in the PC – it could be out of order. You can try to insert a different connector into the cable or connect another device.
- Right-click on the “My Computer” folder, select properties and find the item “Task Manager”. In the task manager, you need to select your device and double-click to go to its properties. Next, on the “Driver” tab, click on the “Update” button. In the same section there is a “Delete device” button, which can be used if the update fails. After uninstalling, you will need to install the driver from scratch.
Meizu does not see the computer
First of all, you need to exclude the breakdown of the components that are responsible for connecting the equipment, and only after that, deal with the treatment of the smartphone itself.
- We check the USB cable for mechanical damage, it may be broken, although this is sometimes not visible.
- In addition, it is extremely important to set up your smartphone correctly. The connection mode “charging only” will mean that the device will not be displayed on the computer. Change the mode to “media transfer”, then all folders and files will appear.
- If everything is set up correctly, try changing the cord, even if charging from it is stable, it may simply not be suitable for connection.
If these tips turned out to be useless, we try to find the reason in the desktop, there are two main points in total.
- First, the USB port may fail, just plug the cable into another one or check the jack with another device.
- Find your gadget in the task manager and update or reinstall the device drivers. In some cases, this method is very effective.
When these methods fail to solve the connection problem, proceed to drastic measures. Among such measures are factory reset and hard reset. Next, I will describe how to do this, but I will say right away that the process will lead to the loss of all files and data that you installed, save them in the cloud or on a flash card.
Operating system problems
It is not uncommon for Meizu to not see the computer due to errors related to the operating system of the gadget. In this case, there are two outputs and both are related to resetting the device to factory settings:
- Open the “Settings” menu by clicking on the gear icon in the blind. Next, find the “Reset and restore” section and select “Reset settings” inside.
- If the software reset failed, you should use the hardware functions: you need to turn off the Meizu M3C, hold down the lock and volume up button for fifteen seconds. When the picture appears on the display, you need to release the buttons and wait until the smartphone reboots. Secret codes circulating on the Internet are not recommended.
Fixing problems with the OS
Method 1: go to the Meizu settings by tapping on the gear icon. In the menu items we find “restore and reset” – “reset settings”.
Method 2: turn off the phone and press the physical power and volume buttons at the same time. Hold them in this position for fifteen seconds until the image appears on the display. Release the keys and wait for the reboot, that’s all.

One of the above methods will definitely help solve the connection problem, and if not, order the device diagnostics at the service center.
Frequently encountered problems
In many cases, the correct connection between the device and the PC is prevented by minor problems that the user may not see.
- “USB Debugging” is enabled. This mode can be enabled by default and to remove it, you need to enter the settings, select the “Accessibility” item, go to the developer section and uncheck debugging.
- Meizu M5 works in tethering mode. In this case, for a PC, the gadget will play the role of a conductor to the Internet, and the files will become inaccessible for viewing. Modem mode is turned off in the network settings and the PC will be able to see the device.
- The device is in a locked state. Phone files become inaccessible after the smartphone is locked, so after connecting it, you need to unlock it once so that the file system is recognized on the PC.
